Pattaya to Hua Hin Ferry Plans revived and preparing for 2016 launch
The NCPO (National Council for Peace and Order) are reviving a ferry service between Pattaya and Hua Hin which will drastically reduce travel times between both seaside resorts and potentially improve tourism numbers at both locations.
Previous ferry services running between Pattaya and Hua Hin have not been popular but the current Government are determined to revive the service and are in the process of creating a new Ferry Port at the Bali Hai Port.
Currently the only option to travel between the East and West Coast of the Gulf of Thailand is via road and the journey can take up to 6 hours. The new Ferry service will take between 1 1/2 and 2 hours and is promised to be much cheaper than previous failed services.
212 Million Baht is being pumped into the new project and the Ministry of Transport and NCPO are making regular trips to Pattaya to ensure the local authorities are moving ahead with the plans, so the service can begin in early 2016, possibly in-time for the post-New Year high-season months, assuming there will be no unforeseen delays in construction of the new ferry port.
