The head of Thai immigration announced the arrest of five foreign nationals this week in what he called a nationwide pre-Songkran crackdown to help boost the security of Thais and foreign tourists.
Among the five arrested was a Norwegian man wanted for sex offences believed committed in Norway. His right to stay in Thailand has been terminated and he is now in custody.
A Russian man wanted by Interpol for fraud and sex offenders from America and Israel were also arrested during the crackdown.
