In March 2016, Chef Jesper Koch, one of Denmark’s most highly-rated and regarded chefs visits Six Senes Yao Noi, outside Phuket, for three exclusive culinary events. This exclusive and secluded resort, located on a small island in awesome Phang Nga Bay, has on previous occasions also invited Nordic celebrity chefs for gourmet dining.
Chef Koch gained culinary fame by putting a modern spin on Scandinavian favourites and holds the prestigious position of third highest-rated Michelin chef in Denmark. With his approach of creating authentic, healthy, balanced and down to earth dishes he holds many synergies with the Six Senses core philosophies of sustainability and organic food concepts.
Chef Jesper’s one Michelin star-rated Restaurant Koch, is among the country’s most acclaimed dining venues. In addition to the famed Restaurant Koch, chef Jesper and his twin brother, Michael, also own Restaurant This Happy Madness!
On Thursday March 3, chef Jesper will showcase a five-course degustation dinner at The Dining Room. Here, he will exhibit his special and unique style, while using local and fresh ingredients from the resort’s organic garden and surroundings. The event will commerce at 7:30 pm and will be priced at USD 125 net per guest, including wine.
On Saturday March 5, chef Jesper will be holding a Master Class at the resort’s Chef Table. The theme will be ‘Nordic cuisine with ingredients from Thailand’. Guests will have the opportunity to chat with the chef directly over dinner and perhaps get a culinary tip or two. Each guest will have a cooking station and the chef will guide the ‘wannabe’ chefs and diners through the procedures he uses in his world-famous restaurant in Denmark. The event will start at 7:30 pm and will be priced at USD 100 net per guest, excluding beverages.
At the final culinary event on Monday March 7, guests will be required to roll up their trousers, and join chef Jesper on the watersports beach while he cooks the catch of the day in a unique way; by placing the fish under the sand over hot rocks with charcoal. Highlighting the freshly caught fish, chef Jesper will accompany the main course with his healthy salad creations. The event will start at 6:30 pm and will be priced at USD 75 net per guest, excluding beverages.
