The Swedish government has appointed Pereric Högberg as the next ambassador to Hanoi, Vietnam.
Pereric Högberg is currently head of the Foreign Ministry’s Africa Department. He has previously served at the embassies including in Windhoek and Pretoria, as well as at the National Arts Council.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs ongoing work is managed by a number of geographical departments, each responsible for Sweden’s foreign, trade and development cooperation relations with the geographical area countries. A geographic department is also responsible for information and analyzes for the Swedish positions on issues concerning the EU’s relations with these countries and monitors Swedish interests and care of contacts with the regional organizations in the area.
The Africa department is responsible for Sweden’s foreign, trade and development cooperation relations with the countries of sub-Saharan Africa. The department is also responsible for information and analysis for the Swedish positions on issues concerning the EU’s relations with these countries and monitors Swedish interests and manages the contacts with the regional organizations in the area.
Pereric Högberg assumes his new position on September 1, 2016.
